Why?
In 2020 the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics published “Revised 2020 Standards of Practice and Standards of Professional Performance for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (Competent, Proficient, and Expert) in Eating Disorders.” It states that an RDN who has chosen ED as their area of clinical practice is strongly encouraged to establish a professional clinical supervisory relationship with an expert RDN in ED to gain knowledge, skills, and insight into this area of practice.
What?
Supervision is an essential self-care tool for all professionals and provides opportunities for concept discussion, case review, and advanced learning. Because the CEDS-S requires supervision with an expert RDN, this certification is recommended for practice in ED.
How?
It is recommended for additional continuing education towards an understanding of interprofessional use of therapeutic modalities like Radically Open DBT.
Supervision can be done individually or in a group setting via Zoom.
Group Supervision is a coaching process designed to sharpen your RO DBT and eating disorder counseling skills as well as increase your confidence.
You will bring your questions, comments and counter-transference concerns to work through. The focus is about deepening your RO DBT / ED knowledge, and ultimately becoming more effective with your clients.
